Beckie is a 4-tiered cake intended to to combine a modern design with a rustic feel. The cake itself is 4-tiers of different flavour sponges covered with ivory fondant and decorated with rustic hessian and pretty lace ribbons. The flowers were provided by a local florist, Robin’s Flowers, and include the coral and Navy blue shades chosen by the Bride and Groom as their colour palette. Each flower was individually wired, wrapped and placed on the cake to ensure the design was balanced. Birdcages were used as table centrepieces for the couple’s wedding breakfast so this concept was also brought into the cake with a hand made, sugar birdcage topper filled with fresh flowers.
The cake was displayed on a hessian-wrapped cake dummy to provide additional height and displayed on the cake table at Wellington Barn.
